Welcome to Landenberg United Methodist church.
Many years ago, I read an article in the daily newspaper, describing a story about saving people. An airplane crashed into the Potomac River in Washington D.C. At that time, someone was passing by the river. When he saw the crashed airplane, he just rushed into the freezing river without hesitation in order to save people. He saved plenty of people in that airplane. However, unfortunately, after he saved people, he drowned in that river because he was exhausted.
What made him rush into the river, risking his life without hesitation? He showed me the love of Jesus on the way of the cross - the way of self-giving and sacrificial love. While walking on this way of the cross, we share life together and we gather regularly to worship God, to study the Bible, and to serve each other and our community. .
In this sense, I believe that the individual who is filled with love can positively affect the community to which an individual belongs, resulting in a community filled with love, like conducting heat. Thus, this love can fill this world. Love which is radically good can exist in any circumstance. Love can invite people to be people of God. Therefore, love binds us together with the church and God. Also, this love makes us want to work toward binding together all people and God. As the Bible says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27).
Landenberg United Methodist church is the joyous reunion of the family of God, a celebration of what God has done in our lives, a place where people love each other, an opportunity to learn from God’s Word. We are here to honor God, serve one another and do great things together as the Kingdom of God.
Come and enjoy worship with us. Our congregation is welcoming and all inclusive.
May God’s richest blessing be with you. Have a blessed day!
Grace and peace
